Sabores sevillanos

Since I am a foodie, I´m going to dedicate the first post of our trip to Sevilla to all the delicious food we ate.

Sevilla, Seville, boquerones

The first place was recommended by the hotel´s concierge. It´s located at San Jacinto Street and it´s called Miami (curious, right?) Me arrived to Sevilla on a Monday (right after Holy Week) so you can imagine there was nothing left. Only fried anchovies (boquerones) that we had with manzanilla (a typical wine) hoping to have better luck the rest of the days. Nonetheless they were delicious!

That afternoon, after walking around the city, we toasted to Gin & Tonics at a place with a breathtaking view of the city. It´s just at the begining of Isabel II bridge, from Triana to the bullring. I don´t know if the food of the place is good but the view is worth the visit.

Sevilla, Seville,

The second day, taking into consideration my cousin´s recommendations, we ate at La Bodeguita de Antonio Romero. It´s right behind the bullring and all Sevilla gathers there whenever there are bull fights. The star dish (according to the recommendations) is the Piripi a gourmet sandwich with pork, peppers and other ingredients that I´m not going to tell, so that they surprise you when you go and have them. All the other dishes that we ordered were succulent and the place was packed and very festive.

To finish our day, that night after walking around the city, we ended at the Lonja del Barranco Market, similar to the one in Madrid called San Miguel. Great cured ham, grilled prawns and red wine! A wonderful way to end the day.

Sevilla, Seville,

Another place worth mentioning is La Casa Fundida (The Molten House) at Triana´s Market. This one wasn´t on the list and we discovered it by chance (it was pouring and we were near the market) and let me tell you what a discovery! Everything was excellent!! Specially the salmorejo (kind of gazpacho -soup- made with bread, egg, pepper, tomato, garlic, salt and water, all shredded and beaten to a fine puree) and Spanish sausage (chorizo) to hell.

Hope you enjoy the recommendations and if you have other let me know!!
